Our Design Approach

Our award-winning designers work with each homeowner to create a vision that reflects their needs and tastes. We use plants and materials that complement the home and surrounding landscape features, whether we’re creating a whole-property design or a veggie or perennial garden. And since our designers are also horticulturalists, you’re assured that the plants selected for your landscape will thrive for years to come.

We believe that consulting the homeowner shouldn’t just happen at the beginning of the design process—we make sure it happens throughout. Preview a sample of our design work here.

Our Process

Onsite Initial Consultation:

Our designer meets with you at your home to discuss your vision, property limitations, budget and any current issues you may be having. Then we conduct a thorough site analysis to review the existing plants, trees, structures, topography, soil conditions, sightlines and measurements.

Our next step is to create a scaled drawing, inspirational photos, surface samples and plant samples. We design multiple concept options for execution.

Design Review and Budget:

Then we’ll review the concepts options on-site with you and discuss which is the preferred directions. We’ll review the materials and cost differences together. We usually take the ideas from each plan you like best to create a final plan.

Final Master Plan and Proposal:

We complete the final plan that includes all the site elements and plants, with detailed notes on heights, materials and patterns. At this time we also provide a detailed breakdown of all the final costs.

Implementation (Construction, Installation, Install):

Throughout the project, our designers manage the project to ensure the design is carried out to your specifications. We work to ensure everything is executed in a timely manner, and we secure all permits and association approvals.
